How a 12 year Old Girl Set Her Intention | The Power of an Intention

So You want to BeDeliciously Abundant in All Areas of your life?

You want to attract Everything you have ever desired?

What are You doing about it?  I just found this video on Facebook..and just had to share again

– its so powerful,

…. How a 12 year Old Girl Set Her Intention – The Power of an Intention

Isn’t it amazing how as children – we have No fear….

We just get on with life…

We Play – We Imagine…

And Yet as we get older…

That doubt, that fear, that ‘I can’t do that’ Creeps in…

My Memories on facebook reminded me of something last year…

I share it here..

Click my image and watch my video…

And yes that 12 year old who set her intentions was me..,

Funny isn’t it – I just went for it…

Decided I was GOING to be a nurse… nothing was getting in my way

…without knowing it back then, I had set  my intention as a mere 12 year old girl

So funny, thinking back then…..
I remember, I KNEW I was going to be a nurse….
As I share in the video, I wasn’t doing particularly well at school….
I didn’t enjoy school – however I was FOCUSSED… and I knew what I needed to do Nursing…
And I went for it…
I remember being amazed when I got in – remember my confidence wasn’t great.
however subconciously
I had set my intention and nothing was getting in the way
I had to wait. a year…. so I  was ‘inspired‘ to to do a Secretarial course whilst I waited…
And Boom, that set me up in good stead later on in life…
As I say,  I wasn’t a very confident young girl at all….
and I remember being very surprised as each exam I passed……
However I just kept going…My intention was set…
So I ask you – Are You Setting Your Intention for The day? the week? the month the year?

Nothing is Out of Your Grasp…

We are told ‘You can’t do that’.. or

I remember  a typing teacher, asking me, with Exasperation

(we were on typewriters back then)…

What do you want to do Helen?’?

I turned around indignantly.

‘IM GOING to be A Nurse!’.. I said…

I was so sick of her picking at me…

to which she replied

Oh thats Good, because You’ll Never make a typist!’…

I went on to become A Top PA before leaving it behind!!!

People, either well meaning or jealous will tell you…or even that monkey chatter…

“you are not tall enough, big enough old enough, strong enough…..’

Nothing is out of your grasp.. Set Your Intention and Go for it…

I found this on Deepak Chopra’s site.. well worth a read…

1.  Slip into the Gap

Most of the time our mind is caught up in thoughts, emotions, and memories. Beyond this noisy internal dialogue is a state of pure awareness that is sometimes referred to as “the gap.” One of the most effective tools we have for entering the gap is meditation. Meditation takes you beyond the ego-mind into the silence and stillness of pure consciousness. This is the ideal state in which to plant your seeds of intention

2.  Release Your Intentions and Desires
Once you’re established in a state of restful awareness, release your intentions and desires. The best time to plant your intentions is during the period after meditation, while your awareness remains centered in the quiet field of all possibilities. After you set an intention, let it go—simply stop thinking about it. Continue this process for a few minutes after your meditation period each day.

3.  Remain Centered in a State of Restful Awareness
Intention is much more powerful when it comes from a place of contentment than if it arises from a sense of lack or need. Stay centered and refuse to be influenced by other people’s doubts or criticisms. Your higher self knows that everything is all right and will be all right, even without knowing the timing or the details of what will happen.

4.  Detach from the Outcome
Relinquish your rigid attachment to a specific result and live in the wisdom of uncertainty. Attachment is based on fear and insecurity, while detachment is based on the unquestioning belief in the power of your true Self. Intend for everything to work out as it should, then let go and allow opportunities and openings to come your way.

5.  Let the Universe Handle the Details
Your focused intentions set the infinite organizing power of the universe in motion. Trust that infinite organizing power to orchestrate the complete fulfillment of your desires. Don’t listen to the voice that says that you have to be in charge, that obsessive vigilance is the only way to get anything done. The outcome that you try so hard to force may not be as good for you as the one that comes naturally. You have released your intentions into the fertile ground of pure potentiality, and they will bloom when the season is right.

  1. This is something that once we know it… we realise how simple it is…but until that moment it is hard to imagine…

So lovely to have such a clear example of how easy it is and how it really does work Helen!

    • Helen Lingard says:

Thank you Cheree, I know – when we look back – it is so simple – we just over complicate it 🙂

  2. Wow Helen, this is great!

There is so much power in an intention, even when we don’t realize it.

I really enjoyed hearing how a 12-year-old girl set her intention, and I just had a feeling as I was reading that it was you:)

    Thanks for sharing this!

  3. It is amazing how many times we set our intentions without really knowing it. I see so many people set negative intentions and they don’t even realize it. Then they wonder why their day didn’t go as planned or why life isn’t what they wanted.

You shared a great example of how when we know what we want and set an intention — that is the direction we are going to go.

  4. such an amazing story. thanks for sharing this

  5. Really loved this Helen. Your story was so inspiring and is a great reminder of how the power of intention is within us. I remember things when I was little, like the intention to move to California from Michigan. Kept saying it, thinking it and didn’t even know it was an intention I set and did it in 1979! Thanks Helen for sharing.

  6. Perfect, great points made. I like the one about letting the universe take over. This post just shows you that your intentions and will can make anything happen. Do not let doubt stand in your way

    • Helen Lingard says:

Thankyou Sandy…I am still amazed that I manifested this dream and I just went with it 🙂

  7. When we are little children we don’t think about all the BS that holds adults back. We want something and just set an ‘innocent’ intention. It isn’t until society tells us about limits (that we buy into) that strips the powerful layers of innocence from a powerful child being. Then we as adults have to work on ourselves in the form of Personal Development in order to get back to our purity and core. Thanks for sharing your story Helen and video!

    • Helen Lingard says:

Thank you Rory – so true – we don’t know any different so we just go it 🙂

  8. Wow! I enjoyed reading your post. It is powerful. Turning your intention when you were still very young to be you today. Thanks for sharing!

    • Helen Lingard says:

Thank you Alecia 🙂 yes funny how we haven’t formed limiting beliefs at that age – we just go for it 🙂

  9. I love your intentions. We all need to know where we are going and why. Make it right within and feel our way there.
